Our History
Headquartered in Chandigarh, Nimbus Defence School began its journey in 2011, driven by a profound vision: to nurture and meticulously prepare India’s youth for the demanding yet rewarding path of a career in the Indian Armed Forces. Recognizing that early guidance and mentorship are not just beneficial, but crucial for success in this highly competitive field, Nimbus focuses on providing comprehensive training and unwavering support to school students. Our aim is to instil the necessary skills, robust knowledge base, and, most importantly, the resolute mindset required to excel, empowering them to confidently achieve their aspirations. This proactive approach ensures that students are not only academically prepared but also possess the mental fortitude and leadership qualities essential for officership.
The resilience and adaptability of Nimbus Defence School were truly tested during the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the education sector faced widespread disruption, Nimbus distinguished itself by swiftly adapting to the evolving landscape. Recognizing the importance of uninterrupted learning, the academy seamlessly transitioned to online platforms, ensuring that students continued to receive high-quality instruction and mentorship. This proactive approach not only mitigated the impact of the pandemic on student progress but also demonstrated Nimbus’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, even in the face of adversity. Importantly, despite the challenging circumstances, our students’ results and performance remained strong, a testament to the dedication of our faculty and the resilience of our students.
Nimbus Defence Academy has also been actively involved in initiatives to broaden access to quality defence education. In November 2020, Nimbus proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Honourable Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Anurag Thakur, to provide free NDA coaching to meritorious students from Himachal Pradesh. Furthering this commitment to service, in 2024, Nimbus Defence Academy is also empanelled to provide free SSB interview coaching for the wards of Ex-servicemen of Himachal Pradesh. These initiatives reflect our dedication to empowering deserving candidates and contributing to the nation’s defence preparedness.

The foundation of Nimbus Defence School rests on the combined expertise and unwavering dedication of four dynamic professionals, each a leader in their respective fields:
- Wing Cdr Iqbal Singh Chahal (Ex-IAF Pilot. Ex- NDA & GTO in SSB): Bringing invaluable firsthand experience from his distinguished service in the Indian Air Force and unparalleled expertise in SSB (Services Selection Board) assessments, Wing Cdr Chahal provides invaluable insights into the selection process and the qualities required to succeed. His guidance is instrumental in preparing students for the rigorous challenges of the SSB.
- Ajay Singh Guleria: A seasoned educator and motivator committed to not only academic excellence but also the holistic personal growth of each student. Ajay Sir's focus on character development, discipline, and leadership skills ensures that students are well-rounded individuals prepared to face any challenge.
- Sunil Arora: A highly skilled psychologist and career guide providing expert support in career planning, personality development, and stress management. Sunil sir's expertise helps students navigate the emotional and psychological aspects of pursuing a demanding career, ensuring they are mentally resilient and focused.
- Rajiv Kumar: An experienced educator and motivator with a passion for igniting the spark of ambition in young minds. Rajiv Sir's dedication to fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment is evident in the success of countless students.
